Key Room Escape Walkthrough – by Feline

This game only lets you do certain things at certain times, so I’ll write what I’ve done, not exactly what would be faster.

    – Oh, chess board! Let’s play! Click it to zoom in. Not all notices what’s written, but it says “Checkmate the black in four moves.”. Yes, easy for you to say, lad! No need to know chess here, the game only allows you to make the proper moves. You are the white.
    – For a start, click and drag the 4th (from left) pawn two squares up. The game will make its move. Cute, now your left bishop is free! Move it right diagonally to the same level (line) as your moved pawn. Wait for game’s move. Now let’s get your queen to help you! Move her diagonally left, as far as you can (she’ll be one line above your other pieces). OK, to save time, remember the current position of your queen. Now your queen is in danger! Let’s eat that black pawn! Click the 3rd black pawn (from left) to “eat” it, then move your queen to that position. Lol! Checkmate!
    – Leave the chess board and turn around to face door. Cute how this floor looks like the chess board, right? Try clicking it on tiles that correspond to the positions your pieces were on the chess board. You’ll zoom in on the floor. Click the tile that is in the middle on your screen and a hidden panel will open up, revealing a key. Do that for every tile. You should get four keys (1 for pawn, 1 for bishop and two for queen’s positions). Go back to chess board.
    – Wow! Bright kings! Click them to prevent going blind from all that glow! You may also get a sneaky purple key from under the right white rook, but you’ll have to get back here once more to see the hidden hint. By now, turn around to face door once more and click the tiles that correspond to both kings’ positions to get other two keys from secret panels. Now back to chess board.
    – Cool, no more chess playing! See the red angle? Click the board (middle left side should do) to see another hint. Don’t ask me what that means! I am still trying to figure it out! I just think we need to see all the hints to get through this game. Now let’s explore a bit, shall we?
    – You may have noticed the door with all those slots for keys, but yours don’t fit them, so you’ll have to use the keys you have somewhere else. Maybe that cute furniture with drawers? Oh, there are only 5 drawers? Not really. 5 drawers when you click it from door’s view and 5 more when you click it while facing the wall with “NOON” written on it. (You have noticed it, haven’t you?)
    – Experiment with keys on locks, if you wish. Tiring… OK, so let me post where they go. I will use “door view” and “clock view”, OK? (you have seen those clocks and those red buttons like a clock, haven’t you?) Door view from top to bottom: top – purple; second – light blue (right one in your inventory); middle – red; fourth – green; bottom – dark blue. All the keys you get from drawers fit in the door, so why not trying to put them now?
    – Zoom in door and place your newly obtained triangle keys. Trial and error here, OK? Too many keys to describe them all! Do something on your own and let me take a breath, please! The keys fit only their proper slots, but the slots are shaped, so… Now we still have two keys left for those drawer and only the drawers on clock view, so back up and turn right from door and lets open two more drawers! Yellow key goes on top and light blue key goes on second drawer.
    – Now before you turn to put your new keys on door, click on top of drawers furniture and grab the main door key (you’ll need it to escape, so we had better grab it soon). Now let’s get an art tour! Turn left and face that weird blue framed picture. Zoom in and… hummm… odd! There are 4 keys hidden in the picture! Grab then and before you back up, click the frame (left middle should do) to turn the picture around. Notice the hint (another mystery for me).
    – Before going to the door, notice the lamp. Click it to see a faint shadow bellow it. OK, go to the door and place your new keys. Oh, I’m so dizzy I see sparkles! Face the chess and zoom in the picture on the wall to show the game you see all those hints! Also zoom in that lines on the same wall, to the left, for the same reason.
    – Now face the clocks wall. Zoom in the clocks to the left. Now this is where it starts (or continues) to nag us! You must make all the clocks get their hands stuck. To do that, I moved the minutes hand first (click and drag), turning it clockwise and releasing it on 12, then I moved the hour hands the same way, but releasing them at proper times. So, this is the time they should be set at:
    — Top line:
    — green clock (already set): 12:00h; red clock: 10:00h; yellow clock: 08:00h.
    — Bottom line:
    — blue clock: 10:00h, white clock (already set): 08:00h; red clock: 06:00h.
    – Try releasing the hand a tiny bit before the wanted number. That should do the trick. Now zoom in those red buttons. They work as a clock, so what I did was clicking where I wanted the time first, then the middle button, then where I wanted the minutes hand to be. I’m not sure this makes a difference, but it’s how I did, so… After every input (red buttons clicking, setting the time), click the outlet to the right and get one key. Before you input a new time, turn previous time off. No need to turn the 12 button off, if you will use it to next time.
    – Input in this order: 06:00h, 08:00h, 10:00h, 12:00h (click 12 button on, off, on… until it doesn’t go off anymore). Go to the door and put your new keys there, then come back here. Tricky again. Input 12:00h again the same way as before and get a shadow key (fake one – you already got this); input 06:00h again, get a shadow key for that. Input 08:00h again and get a new key. Input 10:00h again and get a new key. Input 12:00h again the same way as before and get a new key.
    – If you don’t get the new key from 12:00h (just a shadow one), go to the door, place your new keys and get rid of the shadow ones (click keys on door that correspond to the fake ones you have).
    – Return to red buttons, input 12:00h again the same way, click outlet; you’ll probably get the fake one again (if not, great, if yes, follow what’s next).
    – Close outlet, turn all buttons off, go to door to get rid of shadow key, return to buttons, turn middle button on, then click 12 button 3 times (on, off, on), then click the outlet and you should get the new key.
    – Go place your key(s) on the door and get back here. Input 09:25h and get a new key. 09:00h for a new key. 03:05h for a new key. Back to place your new keys on door. More sparkles! I am really dizzy! No more inputs!!! Turn to face coloured panel and zoom in it. More tricks to play! You may notice only the blue button can change colour for now and the others change if you turn the blue button green or red, but I ask you not to mess around buttons, because I’m not sure my method works if you do! And I don’t know if speed (fast clicking) has anything to do with it, so click fast if next step doesn’t seem to work.
    – Click the blue button a zillion times till it opens up and gives you a key. Take it. Now click the green button a zillion times till it gives you a key. Take it. Now the same thing with red button. These 3 new keys open the last 3 drawers. Go there and take last 3 keys for door. Go to door and place last 3 keys. Wow! More sparkles! Now, please, use your remaining key on door lock and get out of here!

    Hello, folks!
The game is hard to understand and difficult to play, but I’ve played it and got out!
I’ve made a walkthrough, but it’s long, so if you want me to post it, please ask me to, OK?
    Best wishes! :)

yeah, and some don’t fit anywhere -.-
my red and green key are suposed to open drawers and they float around -.-

  • Kelly April 9, 2009, 7:54 am

I think the game is still a bit glitchie. I keep getting keys that want to float around.

  • vania April 9, 2009, 7:42 am
