One piece is hard to spot at first it was one that took me aggges to find. After you know the teeth out of the bear there is one in the corner of the screen below your hand tool. Another one is in the toilet and you need the fishing rod to get that one. Another tricky one is in the crying bunnys mouth.

take the note from the door and put it on the fire, take the two logs and throw them at the elephants left trunk. One of them will land on the floor and the other will split and fall into the fire. Shoot them with the gun to light.

oh and if u cant get the first safe, dont get stuck on it, just restart the game untill u find a good one where it is easier to solve. (the safe pattern is different for every game)

This has to be the best escape game ever! Took me an age to find all the metal peices, Aargh! Guys, some of the objects you don’t need. If your stuck on the first safe, you can either ‘refresh’ it either by moving the deers antlers or by restarting the game to get an easier puzzle…….Try writting it down before actually doing it…

I’ve only done the six that i needed, but it’s pretty easy to guess the others if you need to!
Once you’ve got the right combination, you’ll need to come out of the screen close up and use the key on the lock! (It won’t open itself)

For the second safe work out which footprints match to the animals NOT crossed out, this worked for me, gave me a six digit number:
List of animals on note (beginning to end):
Sable - crossed out *** Figure in Book - Fig 1.
Bear *** Figure in Book - Fig 4.
Grouse *** Figure in Book - Fig 6.
Muskrat *** Figure in Book - Fig 5.
Wolf *** Figure in Book - Fig 7.
Fox *** Figure in Book - Fig 8.
Otter - crossed out *** Figure in Book - Fig 9.
Rabbit *** Figure in Book - Fig 3.
Yeti - crossed out *** Figure in Book - Fig 11.
Scout - crossed out *** Figure in Book - Fig 12.
So this gave me the code 465783 and hey presto!
extra hints on the prints:
Grouse = three toed single print
Yeti = massive single print (kinda obvious)
Scout = two prints that look like a human (again obvious)
Rabbit = V long left print, V short right print, rounded toes and heels
Deer = Single print that looks completely different to all others
Sable = similar to rabbit (long print + short print but more pointed toes with claw dots on the end
Bear = right print has a blob at the heel, which looks detached from the main paw print
The rest im struggling to describe without being too long winded, but hope that this info helps you!

Iggy - Do an image search on Google for “animal tracks”…and find an image result from cityofmelrose.org; these appear to be identical to the prints used in the game.

ok i got the 2safe opened! I LOOKED AT MY ANIMAL LIST ON THE TABLE AND THE ONES THAT AREN’T CROSSED OUT I GOOGLED THE FOOTPRINT. FROM THERE I COMPARED THE PRINT TO THE ONES IN THE BOOK. GOT THE FIG. NUMBER AT THE CORNER AND THEN USED THE NUMBERS ON THE SAFE. THEN USED THE KEY TO OPEN IT, AND BANG!

Hopefully everyone finds this helpful. I’ve translated the solution for the first safe puzzle with coordinates. Count them left to right, top to bottom. For example, the first is 5,3 which means you should count 5 squares to the right then 3 down.

okay, ill make a walkthrough to where im at now (i have a lot of spare time) dont expect anything amazing though, its gonna be my first walkthrough, ill have it by th end of the day.

1.Grab the note on the door frame
2.Go right twice, grab the shotgun and the logs
3.Go left, Select one log at a time and then the left tusk of the elephant
4.If you did it right one log will split and go into the fireplace, the other into the corner, then add the note to the logs in the fireplace
5.Use the shotgun on the logs/note
6.use the shotgun on the tack above the picture of the hippo, it will fall
7.solve the puzzle, my suggestion is (if you have Vista) to go to the screen clipping app under accessories, tack a clipp and use the red pen to figure it out, if you dont, use graph paper, if you dont have that, just wing it and if you mess up click on the deers antlers until they face up to reset it
8.Grab all the items inside, wait for the elephant to raise his nose, get the key and metal peice from his nose (you can either decide to apply the metal peice to the chain saw when you get them or wait until your invintory is full, then apply, to do this double click the saw, then drag the metal peices to the saw’s belt)
9.Grab the metal peice hidden in the plant, then click it to move it to the ground
10.use the crowbar on the bottom left of the file cabnit to see the second safe
11.HOW TO SOLVE THE SECOND SAFE:
A.go left, grab the note from behind the animal
B.go right, open the file cabnit, you find a book and another metal peice
C.Look at the list, remember which animals you need (the ones that are not crossed out) I suggest writing them down
D.Open the animal track appendix and (in a new tab/page) go to this site (thx random dan): http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm41/pompeykk27/ANIMALTRACKS.jpg
E.Compare the tracks in this sample to those in your appendix

13.Go left, take the metal peice from the door frame, click on the bears head, wait for him to yawn, knock out his teath, ther’s one hidde below the hand in the left
14. go left, get the rest of the metal peices, open the curtians, grab the brush and toilet paper, and metal peice on the ground
15. open the toilet lid, get the metal peice, get the metal peice from the corner of the sink
16.go to rabbit picture and throw the wrench (spanner) at the eyes, wait, grab the apple
17. go back to the hippo painting, click the hippos stomach, when his mouth opens, brush his teath, grab the metal peice, as well as the one on the butt of the rifle

24. go left, put the brush back, open the toilet cover and go fishing, the spot can be hard to find, so keep clicking around the bowl
25. go left, click the fish tin, zoom in on the mouse hole, use the apple in front of it, wait, a metal peice should appear, wait a few seconds more, if another appers, zoom out again, if it dosent then do the same with the fish

1.Grab the note on the door frame
2.Go right twice, grab the shotgun and the logs
3.Go left, Select one log at a time and then the left tusk of the elephant
4.If you did it right one log will split and go into the fireplace, the other into the corner, then add the note to the logs in the fireplace
5.Use the shotgun on the logs/note
6.use the shotgun on the tack above the picture of the hippo, it will fall
7.solve the puzzle, my suggestion is (if you have Vista) to go to the screen clipping app under accessories, tack a clipp and use the red pen to figure it out, if you dont, use graph paper, if you dont have that, just wing it and if you mess up click on the deers antlers until they face up to reset it
8.Grab all the items inside, wait for the elephant to raise his nose, get the key and metal peice from his nose (you can either decide to apply the metal peice to the chain saw when you get them or wait until your invintory is full, then apply, to do this double click the saw, then drag the metal peices to the saw’s belt)
9.Grab the metal peice hidden in the plant, then click it to move it to the ground
10.use the crowbar on the bottom left of the file cabnit to see the second safe
11.HOW TO SOLVE THE SECOND SAFE:
A.go left, grab the note from behind the animal
B.go right, open the file cabnit, you find a book and another metal peice
C.Look at the list, remember which animals you need (the ones that are not crossed out) I suggest writing them down
D.Open the animal track appendix and (in a new tab/page) go to this site (thx random dan): http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm41/pompeykk27/ANIMALTRACKS.jpg
E.Compare the tracks in this sample to those in your appendix

Goodness! I never thought I would make it through! The missing teeth I think you will find that the elephant has two or I missed the one from earlier and one is next to the fireplace.(left side tucked back behind on the floor)

The apple is under the sleeping rabbit in the picture. Throw you wrench at the eyes in the knothole of the tree in the same picture and it should roll out from under the rabbit.

There’s a piece on the butt of the rifle in the picture with the hippo. Once you get all the pieces, use the chainsaw on the front door (11 times), and you’re free.

There were two pieces that took FOREVER to find. Click the bottom left corner stone of the fireplace and you will wrap around and find a piece. The other one is a wrap around shot from the bottom right corner of the sink. Hope this helps. If you have any questions, let me know

I think this one is difficult cos it changes all the time - which pages the footprints are on, the codes, the puzzle on the first shelf - in the end you have to do a lot more working it out for yourself simply cos no one can really do it for you. I’m stuck near the end now - i’m missing a couple of metal pieces. The mouse doesn’t seem to want to give me a second one, and i think i’ve missed one in the loo screen, it’s really bugging me!

Here’s a walkthrough.
Take note on door, go left twice, get gun from deer head. Shoot hippo pic off wall by aiming at nail. put paper in the fireplace. The wall safe puzzle is different for everyone, choose your start place carefully cos there is only one path through. if you make a mistake go to deer head and click on both antlers til they in upright position to reset the safe puzzle good luck. In safe there are a number of useful tools. All over the room there a little metal pieces which all go on the chainsaw. You need 28.
1. Top left of door jamb
2. plant pot on filing cabinet
3. 3rd drawer filing cabinet
4. left hand side of fire place(click near floor)
5. right hand end of table
6. cross bar of table
7/8. Teeth of stuffed sable
9. Left hand side of toilet
10. right hand side of basin
11.in the toilet cistern (top f toilet)
12. right had side of bathroom cabinet (click nesr the floor)
13-20. take hammer lift bears head and knock is teeth out( be careful, this can freeze the game if you wait too long, you’ll have to restart)
THere are now four pieces on this screen, one is right at bottom of screen by your hand tool. click right to get the other four.
For the last 8 pieces you’ll need a few things.
Hippo Picture
21. Use the brush from the bathoom to brush teeth of hippo in picture, press his belly button to get him to open his mouth. piece is on end of his left foefoot. Take the carrot from this picture by clicking on tuft of grass under hunters foot.
22. on the end of the hunters gun stock is another piece
Sleeping rabbit pic
23. throw the spanner (wrench) at the eyes in the tree the rabbit waks up and starts crying, another piece is in his mouth. Take the apple
Forest Reserve Pic
Give the carrot to the rabbit click on his other hand to get the magnet
Stork and frog pic
Use the toilet roll from the bathroom to tie stork’s legs together he will drop the fishing rod
Throw the crowbar at the frog. do it four times unitl you can get the rod
Attach the magnet from the rabbit to the fishing rod
24. In the bathroom lift the toilet lid, use the fishing rod to get the piece of metal from the toilet bowl
25/26. By the table are log chairs take them both, a mousehole is revealed behind the larger one. click on it, offer the apple, a mouse will come and take it. take the two pieces of metal
27. in the safe screen, put both logs onto the left elephant tusk, one will go into the corner, and the other will be broken into logs for the fire. Use the gun to light the fire. Wait. Eventually the elephant will lift his trunk take the metal piece and the key.
28. Use the crowbar on bottom left hand side of filing cabinet. it will overturn to reveal another safe. On the table is a note with a list of animals some of which are crossed out. Everyone’s animal list is different. Use the animal tracks fig. numbers that are not crossed out in order, there should be six numbers for the safe. Then use key you got from the elephant to open the safe. last piece for the chainsaw.
Use the cahinsaw on the door. Then use the gun to get out. yay yay yeay!!!

God! I found all 28 pieces… but I can’t get out!
Where should I point the chainsaw to the door?

Click on the chainsaw first. Point the chainsaw at the top of the knob. Or whatever you call the black thing. Then just click it. Then the door will have an ‘E’ hole.

Oh!After that (while you are still holding the chainsaw) click the place beside the ‘E’ on the left and it’s an ‘R’ then click beside the ‘R’ and another ‘E’ will appear. Click beside the ‘E’ and an ‘H’ will come out. So you have the word HERE.
Then on the portion w/ the black handle you click somewhere on the middle part and an ‘I’ will appear.
Then on the bottom just click there and the word ‘COME’ must appear.
Just click on the door again and you’re free!!!

Okay, I have tried this like 4 times today, because I didn’t think you could put the metal pieces back, but like the first time I was playing it, I got 12 pieces of metal(minus one in back of toilet) but I know one fell in toilet…okay, i just saw someone said you need fishing rod for that..isn’t fishing rod in the picture with the bird and the frog? and what does it mean to crowbar the frog? and every time i aim at the nail on the picture with the hippo, it doesn’t work, and it takes me to the picture. i can give the rabbit the carrot and get a magnet, but i don’t know what it means, and what is one of you talking about, to get the stalk’s legs down, or something like that? how? and what is a crying bunny?
