Another Side

You play as a girl who is trapped in a room. Hey, where is the door? Examine the room and find useful stuffs and interact with them to find clues to help you to escape the room. This is a well made game with decent graphics and the best part is there’s no language barrier even though it’s a Japanese game.

  • DSD December 18, 2008, 12:53 pm

How do u open the yellow box

  • Emma December 15, 2008, 1:49 am

The flower code is that you have four butterflies for every one coloured petal on the left side and one butterfly for every coloured petal on the right side so for example: if you had two coloured petals on one side it would be 8, and if there were 2 on the left and one on the right it would be 8+1=9 butterflies :)

  • Confused November 28, 2008, 8:57 pm

I can’t even start the game, I click the another side screen with the arrow and it just reloads. Can anyone help so I can start this game????!!!!

  • Jenny November 21, 2008, 2:09 am

I loved this game, although I admit it would have got frustrating without a couple of clues from the walkthrough (being able to flip the card, note the time etc). It was really nice that you actually had something you had to work out rather than clicking randomly.

You will have problems if you can’t read basic music and know where the notes are on a keyboard. If you need help you can get online guides to reading music, eg at http://www.musicmasterworks.com/ReadingSheetMusic.htm, that ought to help you interpret the clues.

  • sammy boi November 18, 2008, 10:25 pm

  • kaatje November 16, 2008, 10:58 am

I finished the game :D. Had trouble with clicking on the books quickly though. Asked my bf for help on that one. I agree it’s not easy figuring the notes out when you can’t read music notes. Very much thank you for the walktrough!

  • i dont get it November 15, 2008, 2:44 pm

  • guest October 28, 2008, 2:33 pm

Whats the code for the safe and how do you get the piano?
    PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!

  • Ash October 28, 2008, 2:00 am

For all those who still dont understand the code on the table go to the book thats in the draw on the right of the mirror scene, make a note of the pattern, then open it and make a note of the pictures, for me it was the eye, then person, cow, and then the eagle the i went back to the shelf and found the same patterns and opened them up then you add the red petals all together any red petals on the right flower equal 4 and any on the left equal 1, add them up and remember oe make a note what pic was next to it, so mine was for the eye-5, person-3, cow-4, eagle-8!

    hope that helped!

  • Mort October 26, 2008, 7:13 pm

Apparently some people have a hard time understandin’ the code. :P

There are two flowers, the one on the left have each petal equaling FOUR. The flower on the right has each petal equaling ONE. So if you have a flower with two red on the left, and one red on the right, it will equal in total of NINE. You can figure this out by looking at the diagram at the couches.

    Zero red gives ZERO butterflies.
One red on left gives FOUR butterflies.
Two red on left, one red on right gives NINE butterflies.
Two red on right gives TWO butterflies.

From that, you can deduce a petal on the left gives FOUR in value and a petal on the right gives ONE in value. Every game gives a different value; you have to figure this out on your own. The flowers can be found on the bookcase. There are FOUR books in total, giving you the individual values for the four-digit code.

To find the right order, the flower in the book comes with a hieroglyph. If you find the book in the right drawer on the mirror scene, it will give you each hieroglyph in an order. That order is what you should place each individual number in the combination. I believe that order is also different per game.

  • Reshi September 28, 2008, 7:02 pm

oh and the code, you’re going to have to try one of the 2. there’s 5248 and 7243
it should be one or the other.
    try both.
AND the piano, the second time you play it to get the key, if it’s like mine
    it should be G F(sharp) E D C(sharp) E

  • Reshi September 28, 2008, 7:00 pm

REMEMBER the little dial under the drawer where you got the notes for the piano is like a clock, in case anyone else has issues like that like i did.

  • Kyo September 18, 2008, 3:23 am

This is stupid. My boyfriend and I both have tried multiple combinations for the code on the table and nothing has worked. I’ve added the number for the flowers multiple times and I’ve more than double checked my work. Can someone put a more in depth explanation about the flowers please?

  • belicia September 15, 2008, 10:24 pm

  • Donut September 7, 2008, 12:50 pm

    Spoiler Spoiler Spoiler!
    Another Side Walkthrough

    1. Take CBF note from the drawer. Under the drawer thing there is something, but we’ll get there later. Beside the left chair there is a handle, take it. Note the picture, you will need it to figure out a certain code. Go left.
    2. Click on the right shelf, take coin from one of the wine glasses. Note the time. Go left twice.
    3. From the drawer of the left cabinet take screwdriver. Inside the one in the right cabinet there is a book, there are some pictures in it, but after so many games played, you guessed correctly that it gives you the order of a code. Remember the squares on the cover. Go right twice.
    4. Look for the same pattern on the shelves. Each book will give you a sign. Now, on the picture you have a clue for the numbers. The picture shows four bouquets, each has two flowers. If the left one has a red petal, it means 4 (thus: two red petals mean 8 and so on…), If the right one has a petal, it means 1 (thus 2 red petals mean 2 and so on…) Add the two numbers and you get the number for each bouquet. Now, leave the picture and go to the shelves. Open the books (you already know which ones) and do the math. Put the code into the safe on the table.
    5. It will give you a piano. Play C, B, F (first, last and fourth). Another thing will open. Examine the card, flip it over, remember the notes, and put it there. Play the new notes (5th white, black next to the 4th white, 3rd white, 2nd white, black left to the 2nd white, 3rd white). Take the key. Go back.
    6. Click the trophy to put it away from the box. Click the box to see the screws, use coin on them. Use the screwdriver on the next screws. Take the yellow box. Also take the screws. Go right twice.
    7. Click on the right cabinet, the bottom shelf has some holes. Put the handle there, put the screws on it. Lift it up, take the tool. Use it on the yellow box in you inventory. Take the key. Use both keys on the cabinets, lift the handles up. You’ll see some lines on the mirror. Click on the mirror to go to the mirror world.
    8. Click the left cabinet (which is right in the real world), read the warning. Or I tell you: don’t turn off the switches, you’ll die. Go right.
    9. Remember the signs for the planets. Go right.
    10. Note the time. Click the left book shelves. On each shelf there is one book you can pull a bit (left shelves: top shelf 5, middle 9, bottom 3; right shelves: top 8, middle 2, bottom 4. Note their positions and quickly click on them, you’ll hear a sound of something opening. Go back, take the jin-jang piece. Repeat the operation with the right book shelves. Take the other piece. Go right twice.
    11. Click the left cabinet (which is right in the real world), note the arrow. Go back, click on the mirror.
    12. Open the right cabinet, click upper left corner, take the key. Go left.
    13. Put the key under the drawer thing. First turn it to the left and put it on 10, then turn to the right and put it on 1. You’ll hear a sound of something opening. Go back.
    14. Remember the planet signs? Click them starting with planet closest to the Sun… … … oh, yeah, here you go: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune. Go to mirror world.
    15. Place the jin-jang pieces in place. Go to the real world, turn off both switches.
    16. There are two endings: after turning off the switches, just go through the door. Or:
    17. After you turn off the switches, look at the door, click the left lamp (click its left side), use the tool. Go back. Click the left lamp from the right side, use tool. Remove cover, put coin in slot, take the key. Click on the door, use the key on the truck. Voila! You escaped!

  • no thanks September 7, 2008, 12:44 pm

Walkthrough, or at least some help, please. Have the blue and green lines on the mirror, still have the allen wrench, the coin and the little note with CBF on it. Also, have the flower patterns for the symbols found in the books. Stuck!! Please help.
